The St. George Recreation Division announced that it will host a grand re-opening of the newly renovated Recreation Center on Thursday, Sept. 24. Community members are invited to come throughout the day for free admission to the Center, its facilities, and select classes and workshops.
“We felt it was important to update and upgrade the Recreation Center to provide new gaming and social meeting areas and reconfigure the space for functionality,” said Chris Beckstead, St. George Recreation Center Coordinator. “The Center is a drawing card for families to come together for health and community and the new equipment and seating areas will facilitate those activities.”
The day-long event will feature fun for the whole family, with access to new gaming tables and the recently installed T-Wall active electric fitness game, which provides interactive movement for all ages and all abilities. Complimentary aerobic classes in Zumba, ballet barre, yoga and more, as well as complimentary ceramics workshops, will be offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The St. George Recreation Center grand reopening festivities will also include a pizza lunch and live broadcasts from the venue on Cherry Creek Radio stations. Broadcasts will be on B92.1 FM from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 106.1 FM ESPN Sports Radio from 4-6 p.m. Guests can enter drawings to win three-month family passes. The St. George Recreation Center is located at 285 South 400 East.
