Successful Habitat for Humanity fundraiser means more affordable homesSuccessful Habitat for Humanity fundraiser means more affordable homes

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah hosted the second annual Casino Night Fundraiser Dec. 30, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn. This event, now in its second year, raised funds to begin building our 23rd home for the Haven family. This fun filled “Fun”draising evening included prizes, gaming, and silent auctions, all to benefit deserving families in our community. This was a ‘70s-themed evening with sequins, disco balls, bell bottoms, and fringe. Our goal was to raise $20,000 and while we were just a couple hundred shy of that, we were ecstatic with the event and the support of the community.

“It is exciting for me and my four children to be a part of Habitat and become their newest recipient of a home,” said Kasidi Haven. “It is this ‘hand up’ that will help my family achieve our dreams of being in a stable, affordable home where we don’t have to move every year. We are looking forward to creating a wonderful life where we can thrive and not just survive and build life-long memories together.”

“We are very grateful to our sponsors, volunteers and staff for making this event such a huge success!” said Linda Baker, Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah’s executive director. “With these events, they help Habitat complete our mission.”

If you missed this event, don’t worry. We are doing it again! Save the date of May 5 in honor of Cinco de Mayo Casino Night when the Hilton Garden Inn will host the fun again. Watch our website and social media for additional information. Tickets will be $50 and $75 at the door, so save the date!
