Larry H. Miller Charities, the charitable arm of Megaplex Theatres, made a $6,000 donation to the Southern Utah University chapter of Camp Kesem on Friday, July 31. The donation will help support children affected by a parent’s cancer diagnosis in Utah and the surrounding areas, helping to fund camp-related expenses, including lodging and meals, for 24 campers between the ages of 6 and 16 years old.
“We’re proud to support organizations like Camp Kesem that provide such beneficial programs for the children in our area,” said Blake Andersen, president of Megaplex Theatres.
Camp Kesem provides a safe and supportive atmosphere where children can befriend peers who can relate to their unique situations and gain the strategies and confidence needed to cope with their parents’ illness or death.

Funding for Larry H. Miller Charities comes in large part from employee contributions. Additional funds are allocated from various LHM Group companies and public donations. The money is dispersed through a grant program that is primarily focused on charities that serve women and children with an emphasis on health and education.
