SUU music department performs holiday-themed concert

Southern Utah University’s music department will present a holiday-themed concert Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater.
“It’s going to be a big concert filled with holiday music, what more could people want this time of year?” asked Michael Dorazio, SUU vocal student. “Hearing music live is so much better than recordings. It’s not just the same classic holiday songs we’ve heard over and over again, there are some cool arrangements and versions most have never heard. There’s going to be a moment where all the choirs join together and I think it’s going to be awesome the way it’s going to happen. This concert will provide great music performed by people who absolutely love doing it and that feeling of warmth and togetherness that seems to come this time of year.”
“I love being able to perform and collaborate with the ensembles,” said Mallory Barlow, an SUU instrumental student. “I’m excited to be able to play a flute duet accompanying the women’s choir. We have a lot of thrilling pieces that really help you to feel the holiday spirit. We have all worked so hard, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to hear some professional quality music, right here in Cedar City. I am very excited to share this concert with the community!”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Southern Utah University faculty, staff, and students are free with a valid ID card. Faculty and staff IDs are allowed one guest. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the concert or online at suu.edu/pva.
