The Symphony Of The Canyons will perform a free concert Saturday, Sept. 12, at Pipe Spring National Monument. The orchestra will perform at 5:45 p.m.
“This is a wonderful partnership between the National Park Service and the Symphony,” said John Hiscock, superintendent of the Pipe Spring National Monument. “Their initial performance in 2013 was a huge draw and they repeated that success in 2014. We are so pleased to host the Symphony again this year. The partnership and performance supports the Park Service’s initiative of providing arts in the parks experiences and helps build community relations. We look forward to a relaxing early evening performance in an historic setting, and, hopefully, with a beautiful sunset as a backdrop. The National Park Service extends its thanks to symphony executive director Betty Colston and founder and conductor Kortney Stirland for making this concert at Pipe Spring a reality.”
The concert will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 5:45 p.m. per Arizona or Mountain Standard Time (or 6:45 p.m. per Utah or Mountain Daylight Time). The public is encouraged to arrive at approximately 5:15 p.m. and bring camp chairs for seating. No fees will be charged for this performance, and there are no entrance fees for the monument for those arriving after 5 p.m. (MST).
Pipe Spring National Monument is approximately 21 miles from Kanab and 60 miles from St. George, just off of Arizona State Route 389 between the two.
