“The Immense Prodigality of Color” – with Lyman Hafen and Roland Lee

March 16th, 2023 – 7PM, at the Bumbleberry Inn Theater in Springdale Utah.

Springdale, Utah – Zion Forever Project and Zion Canyon Mesa are proud to present an evening of words and images that will take audiences on a breathtaking journey through Zion National Park. “The Immense Prodigality of Color: An Evening with Lyman Hafen and Roland Lee” will feature the talents of Lyman Hafen, local author and former president and CEO of Zion Forever Project, and nationally recognized artist, Roland Lee.

Together, Hafen and Lee have been working partners for more decades, and on March 16, 2023, they will bring their incredible talents to the Bumbleberry Inn Theater for a free program beginning at 7pm. Through Hafen’s words and Lee’s art, the audience will be transported through the stunning landscapes of Zion, exploring the power of both words and images and discussing which has the greater power.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us honor the beauty of Zion National Park through the power of words and images,” said Hafen. “We can’t wait to share our love of this incredible place with the community.”

Lee added, “We hope that everyone who attends will come away from the evening with a deeper appreciation of the unique and awe-inspiring landscapes of Zion.”

ABOUT ROLAND LEE

Roland Lee has become nationally known for his transparent watercolors of the southwest landscape, the pioneer west, and rural European scenes. A signature member of the National Watercolor Society, he devotes full-time to painting from his studio in the historic district of St. George, Utah. Since 1979 Roland has concentrated on the medium of transparent watercolor using no white, black, or opaque paints. A graduate of Brigham Young University, he has exhibited and won awards in over 100 invitational juried shows.

ABOUT LYMAN HAFEN

Lyman Hafen is a native of St. George, Utah. He grew up on the southern edge of what was then a small town and as a boy developed a strong sense of place roaming the broken landscape and listening to the stories his father told. He has written more than a dozen books of fiction and nonfiction and his writing has been honored on several occasions by the Utah Arts Council. He has written and directed three documentary films and he was appointed by Governor Jon Huntsman to the board of directors of the Utah Arts Council.
