The Stage Door brings “Evita” to The Electric Theater just in time for Valentine’s Day
If you reside in southern Utah and you’re looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day, then The Stage Door has the perfect date plan for you. Come on out to The Electric Theater and take in a production of “Evita.”
This iconic Tony Award-winning musical from stage legends Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice traces the life of famed Argentinian political leader Eva Peron, second wife of Argentina President Juan Peron, as she rises to power through her charity work and her deft ability to speak directly to the people. “Evita” features several unforgettable songs, with “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” leading the charge.
Directed by The Stage Door founder Kerry Kimball Perry and starring an amazing roster of top local talent including Crystal Jones, Ed Tracey, and a special guest performance by James Royce Edwards (Tuacahn’s “Tarzan”), this production of “Evita” promises to do the source material proud.
“Evita” will close out a successful Stage Door 2017–18 season (that included “Jekyll and Hyde,” “White Christmas,” and “Harvey”) with a limited eight-show run. It opens Feb. 14, and tickets are only $18 to $21.
