One of the three businesses burglarized Thursday morning sporting a new door

The Springdale Police Department is asking citizens and visitors to Zion Canyon to report any relevant information regarding three burglaries that took place early Thursday morning in Springdale and to be on alert for any suspicious activity. They are also asking businesses to take precautions and to keep their eyes peeled.
“Keep your registers empty at night, and stay vigilant. Pay attention,” said Police Chief Kurt Wright.
Currently, Springdale Police have no suspects but will be reviewing surveillance footage taken from the burglarized businesses and adjacent buildings. The break-ins occurred in the early morning hours. Each break-in occurred through either windows or doors, and each business burglarized had their registers either stolen or broken into, with little money actually taken. Financially, the businesses suffered more from the damage done to their properties during the actual break-ins than from the money stolen, according to Chief Wright.
Two similar burglaries were reported in Springdale recently, totaling five burglary calls so far this spring.
“This sort of thing seems to happen every year around this time. We have a lot of people in town right now as well as many seasonal residents,” said Wright. “We caught the perpetrators of those robberies in past years, and I anticipate we will catch these criminals as well.”
Footage reviewed from one of the burglaries earlier this year showed the perpetrator wearing what appear to be a ski mask, goggles, and gloves. Citizens with information should contact the Springdale Police Department at (435) 772-3434.
