Timpanogos Bluegrassroots Festival
Starting off the evening is Utah’s Own, Rise Up Children’s Choir, Utah’s premiere contemporary youth choral program.  You won’t want to miss this highly patriotic part of the show as they will be performing some of their selections from their performance earlier in the month at the D-Day Commemoration in Normandy, and at the Madeleine Cathedral in Paris, France.

Timpanogos Bluegrassroots Festival This Friday & Saturday

The 4th Annual Timpanogos Bluegrassroots Festival Friday, June 24th, and Saturday, June 25th.  Grammy winner, John McEuen, and other original members of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

OREM, UT- Presented by the Utah Valley Fine Arts Council, this 2-day event starts at 6:30 pm Friday evening concert will be held at Timpanogos High School Football Field Stadium with the beautiful Wasatch Mountains as the backdrop.  Saturday’s event will be at Canyon Glen Park in Provo Canyon.

Next up: Molly in the Mineshaft.  This spirited group will get the audience going with some of their enthusiastic renditions of bluegrass and folk favorites.

The Headliner:  John McEuen with other Nitty Gritty Dirt Band members will inspire us with, Will the Circle Be Unbroken? Mr. Bojangles, and other favorites from his long list of hits spanning a career of over 6 decades. John McEuen and the “Dirt Band” has recorded 30 Albums • 3 Platinum • 5 Gold • 20 Top 20 Hits • 1 Grammy Award • 6 Grammy Nominations.  John McEuen’s music continues to warm the hearts of people of all ages and brings us together in our American tradition of folk and bluegrass music.

This year’s festival will be a Freedom Festival event hosted by local actor, author, and songwriter Marvin Payne. Gates open at 5:30 PM for a food truck roundup, so bring the whole family or make it a special date night. Come early and grab a good seat so you don’t miss a minute of this great summer concert celebration!

On Saturday, the festival continues for the true Bluegrass enthusiasts.  Workshops will be offered with our featured artists and others from 9 am to 12 noon at Canyon Glen Park. 1501 E Provo Canyon Rd, Provo, UT 84604. This is a “grassroots” event, so folks who would like time at an open mic on the main stage should apply at bluegrassroots.netWorkshops will include instructions and jam sessions on the fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar. Come participate by bringing your guitars, banjos, mandos, fiddles, ukes, harmonicas, dulcimers, psalteries, sackbuts, harps, and kazoos or come watch the fun…either way, it is sure to be a great way to rejuvenate your spirit in the mountains with some amazing Bluegrass Music!
