An Afternoon of Fun and Adventure Inspiring the Next Generation to Explore Utah’s Great Outdoors!

What: The Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation invites media to a kickoff event and community celebration for its new Every Kid Outdoors (EKO) Adventure Challenge, a year-long initiative encouraging Utah’s youth to explore nature and engage in outdoor recreation. The free event will feature ice skating, a scavenger hunt, exciting activities, special prizes and hot cocoa. Attendees can enjoy interactive booths hosted by over 20 outdoor and nature-focused organizations, including the Utah Hockey Club, Teton Sports, US Forest Service, Ski Utah, Wasatch Adaptive Sports, Natural History Museum of Utah and many more.

Hundreds of children participating in the Adventure Challenge event will receive a reusable water bottle to decorate with stickers when each monthly challenge is completed. Complete all 2025 Adventure Challenge activities for a chance to win prizes.

The event is open to children, families, and anyone with a passion for the outdoors and adventure. Families can register online HERE. Admission is free, and all registered participants have the option to ice-skate for free for 30 minutes at the event.

Why: The new EKO Adventure Challenge aims to reconnect children with nature, promoting physical health, creativity, confidence and responsible recreation.
