On Friday, July 10, the Utah Shakespeare Festival will announce its 2016 season. However, to guarantee the best seats and save money, patrons of the Utah Shakespeare Festival can purchase Festival Flex Passes from July 30 to August 3 (before the general public begins purchasing on August 4), which will ensure early purchase of seats to all the plays in the Randall L. Jones Theatre, as well as those in the new Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre and the new Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre.
The advantage to these passes lies in their increased value over direct ticket purchase. The passes hold an additional 10 percent in ticket value and can be purchased in any whole-dollar amount. A Flex Pass for $100 will yield $110 worth of tickets when redeemed. It also essentially reserves the holder’s space in line for when the season is announced on Friday, July 10.
They can be redeemed for best available seating in any desired seating area on the date of redemption. It is not, however, a guarantee of availability in those sections.
While patrons may redeem the passes any time through December 2016, if they want the benefit of purchasing before the general public, they will need to redeem them between July 30 and August 3. If the tickets are more than the value of a pass at the time of redemption, the difference can be paid at that time. If the tickets are less than the value of a pass, the remaining balance may be used anytime through December 2016 to purchase tickets for the 2016 or 2017 seasons.
