February 28, 2026 — St. George, UT — The roar of engines, dust in the desert air, and a community of riders and fans ready to tackle rugged terrain — that’s the atmosphere Utah Motorcycle Off-Road Racing Association (UMORA) brings each year to the American Southwest.

From Mesquite to Moapa and across Utah’s red-rock backcountry, UMORA’s sanctioned off-road motorcycle race series spans spring through fall with roughly 8–10 events annually. Most races kick off in January or February and continue through early June, with some summer and autumn dates added.

A Season Built on Community and Competition

What makes UMORA unique isn’t just the courses — it’s the racing community. While UMORA sanctions the series and handles championship points, the actual events are hosted by local clubs and promoters scattered across the region. Groups like the Sage Riders, Sugarloafers, Firebirds, Jackrabbits, and Wizards Motorcycle Club put in the work to organize specific races, managing everything from laying out the course to running the timing.

This structure not only spreads the workload but also builds grassroots enthusiasm: club members earn points for helping operate the races so everyone has skin in the game.

Rhino Rally — St. George’s Off-Road Highlight

The Round 3 Rhino Rally, a major UMORA event, is slated for February 28, 2026, at the Powerline Pits in St. George, Utah, hosted by the Wizards Motorcycle Club. Racers of all ages and skill levels can compete in classes ranging from Pee Wee and Youth divisions to Big Bike Pro and Non-Pro categories.

  • Event type: Big Bike — Hare & Hound; Youth — Hare Scramble

  • Location: Powerline Pits (directions available via UMORA’s registration page)

  • Gates/Start Time: Early morning racing with multiple heats throughout the day

  • Entries: Pre-sign registrations are filling up for big bike classes; youth registration is still open. Alternate list available for sold-out classes.

  • Results archives for both adult and youth classes.

  • Rules and safety resources to ensure fair and secure racing.

  • Contingency programs that let racers earn rewards and credits from sponsors.

  • Class number guides that help riders choose and reserve their racing plate.
