On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Vegetarian Society of Utah will host their monthly education program at the St. George Community Building. The September program will be the educational DVD “Are You Ready To Go Unprocessed?” by Chef AJ. The VSU monthly education program is free and open to the public.
According to Chef AJ, Americans obtain over 92 percent of their calories from animal products and processed foods and less than 10 percent from fruits and vegetables. A fun and lively culinary DVD demonstration by Chef AJ will show you how to incorporate more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet in easy and delicious ways. Using only 100 percent whole foods and plant-based ingredients, all of Chef AJ’s creations are free of gluten, sugar, oil, and salt.
Chef AJ has followed a plant-based diet for over 37 years. She is the author of “Unprocessed: How to Achieve Vibrant Health & Your Ideal Weight.” She is also the host of a new television series called “Healthy Living with Chef AJ” on Foody TV. This former executive pastry chef at the Sante La Brea restaurant in Los Angeles creates all of her decadent desserts free of sugar, oil, and salt. To sweeten her desserts, she only uses whole dates. Chef AJ has a certificate in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She created the Ultimate Weight Loss Program and Healthy Taste of LA, which has helped hundreds of people achieve their optimum health.
