Washington City is pulling out all the stops for this year’s Pioneer Day celebration, happening Thursday, July 24, 2025. With a sunrise breakfast, colorful parade, family-friendly activities, and an explosive fireworks show to cap off the day, this is one hometown tradition you won’t want to miss!
The festivities kick off bright and early with a hearty breakfast served by the local Lions Club at 7 AM at Veterans Park. Then, grab your lawn chairs and line up along Telegraph Street for the annual Pioneer Day Parade. Parade participants will begin lining up at 7 AM, and the procession officially rolls out at 8 AM. The route begins at Community Center Drive and 300 East and runs north along Telegraph, showcasing floats, classic cars, marching bands, and other local favorites. To join the fun as a parade entrant, visit WashingtonCity.org/celebrations to register.
After the parade, Veterans Park becomes the hub of the celebration with children’s booths, games, and food. It’s a great way to spend the late morning and early afternoon enjoying the shade, treats, and small-town vibes with the whole family.

Once the fun wraps up at the park, head over to the Washington City Community Center (WCCC) and make a splash! The afternoon is wide open for swimming, indoor play, and cooling off from the Southern Utah sun. The Community Center offers something for everyone, whether you’re chasing kids through the splash pad or just enjoying the air conditioning.
As the sun sets, bring a blanket or a lawn chair and head to the nearby Softball Complex and Baseball Fields for the grand finale: a spectacular fireworks show beginning at 10 PM. It’s the perfect ending to a day packed with community pride and Pioneer spirit.
This event is free and open to all, so come out and celebrate what makes Washington City such a special place to live. For more information or to register a parade entry, visit our website, email events@washingtoncity.org, or call the City Offices at 435-656-6300.
