In Washington County, the cities of Hurricane, Ivins, St. George and Washington City will all be holding early elections beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and running various dates depending on the city until Oct. 30. The City of Santa Clara has cancelled municipal elections.
In Hurricane, the early elections will be held on Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 26-29 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and also on Oct. 23 and 30 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Hurricane City Hall located at 140 North 870 West. The office will be closed for lunch on all listed days from 1-1:30 p.m. The candidates for the three City Council seats are Ginger Hall, Pam Humphries, Tony Hal Hoyt and Cheryl S. Reeve. In Ivins, the early municipal elections will be held from 8 a.m. until noon from Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 23 and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. from Tuesday, Oct. 27 – Friday, Oct. 30. The five candidates for the three city council seats are Lance B. Anderson, Ron Densley, Jenny L. Johnson, Crystal Lewis and Dennis Mehr. The St. George early elections will occur from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Oct. 23. The following week, the election schedule will be 1-5 p.m. from Oct. 27 through Oct. 30. The candidates for the three St. George city council seats are Bette O. Arial, Ed Baca, N. Craig Hammer, Jimmie B. Hughes, Gregg McArthur and Bryan Thiriot. Washington City’s early elections will occur from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Oct. 20, 21, 27 and 28 and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30. The candidate for the three city council seats are as follows: C. Bradford Allen, Jean Arbuckle, Troy Garth Belliston, Kolene F. Granger, Bill Hudson and Jeff Turek.
