To kick off Memorial Day weekend, four of Utah’s conservancy districts—including the Washington County Water Conservancy District—in partnership with the Utah Division of Water Resources, will be giving free conservation gifts to any military member who comes to one of the participating conservancy districts this Friday, May 22. So come in anytime from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., show your military ID or proof of service, and receive a conservation gift as a token of appreciation for your service.

As part of their gift, the first 15 people at each participating district will receive a Water-Wise hose nozzle to water brown spots instead of running the sprinklers. Other gift items include soil moisture meters, which will test high levels of moisture with all of the recent rain; “Slow the Flow” water bottles and 8-to-8 bags (to serve as a reminder to water at night) while supplies last.

The water conservancy districts encourage participants to take advantage of their time to stroll through the conservation gardens and learn about how those who serve and served can also conserve.
