Welcome to Utah Wine Country At Zion Vineyards
It’s time for the Harvest here at Zion Vineyards. We started picking our whites in mid-August, now we are picking the red varietals. We have 8 more harvests to go. Each varietal ripens at a different time; therefore, we have a harvest for each type of grape. We determine the ripeness using a refractometer, which tells us the Brix level, (sugar concentration) of the grapes. The winemaker determines when they are ready, then we send out emails to our Volunteers to help with picking.
If you want to join us picking, come in for a Tasting and sign up to Volunteer. We send out emails and take the first 20 RSVPs. We meet at the Tasting Room at 7 AM, start picking at 7:30, go no later than 11:30, and break for lunch. You may watch as the winemaker crushes the grapes, then receive a gift, and you’re done for the day.
Our wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, it showcases the bold flavors of wine produced in Southern Utah. With dark fruit flavors of black currants, black cherry, tobacco and smoke with notes of vanilla and clove. One of our Red Blends is the Miscela Rossa, processed in an Old World, Bordeaux Style, it is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Zinfandel, and 10% Tempranillo. A blend that exhibits the best of all three varietals. It is Fruit forward with delicate notes of earth and smoke and dark fruit flavors of black currants, plum and blueberry with a chocolatey finish. The Tempranillo Reserve is a Spanish varietal, it is aged in a brand-new French Oak barrel, this designates our Reserves. This wine is dry and full bodied with notes of red and Bing cherry, dried fig and spice.

Our Winemaker Robert Cec is self-taught, and he has created some amazing and Award-Winning wines for you to enjoy. These include reds with depth of character and bold style and Whites with medium to high acidity and well-balanced fruit and citrus notes.
