Willow Canyon Outdoor hosts gear swap
By Sandy Thevenin
Willow Canyon Outdoor will host its annual gear swap to benefit Grand Canyon Youth April 21 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Grand Canyon Youth provides students, including those from Kanab High School, the opportunity to pursue outdoor adventures in the Southwest.
The gear swap will be conducted on Willow Canyon Outdoor’s back patio. Everyone is invited to buy, sell, or trade gear. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to donate to Grand Canyon Youth. Sellers should arrive by 9:15 a.m. and bring tables and chairs as needed.
Willow Canyon Outdoor will also collect donations of items to sell on behalf of Grand Canyon Youth. Outdoor gear such as camp, bike, and hike supplies, shoes, clothing, and jackets will be accepted at the store. Early drop off is encouraged, and the store will be open to accept donations from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. through April 20. Items not sold will be donated to Grand Canyon Youth or a thrift store.
Willow Canyon Outdoor further supports Grand Canyon Youth through a donation of 3 percent of storewide sales during its sidewalk sale the same weekend, April 20–22.
Grand Canyon Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Flagstaff, Arizona. It provides youth ages 11–19 an experiential education along the rivers and canyons of the Southwest in an effort to promote personal growth, environmental awareness, community involvement, and teamwork among people of diverse backgrounds.
Willow Canyon Outdoor is located at 263 S 100 E in Kanab.
