… Wind Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 am MDT
Saturday…
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Wind
Advisory… which is in effect from 10 PM this evening through 10
am MDT Saturday. The previous Wind Advisory for the current
overnight period has been cancelled.
* Affected area… north-south oriented valleys and canyons of
Washington County in southwest Utah, particularly along the I-15
corridor from near Black Ridge south to near hurricane. Winds
are expected to not be as strong in the Saint George area.
* Winds… northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as
55 mph.
* Timing… northeast winds will develop this evening, becoming
strong late this evening. These winds will continue into early
Saturday morning before decreasing late in the morning.
* Impacts… strong Crosswinds on local east-west oriented roads
may make driving difficult at times.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31
mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Motorists in the advisory
area should be prepared for sudden gusty cross winds which can
make driving difficult.
