Winter made its debut in Southern Utah as Brian Head Resort reported nearly three inches of fresh snow on Tuesday, marking the start of the 2025–26 ski season countdown.
With a base elevation of 9,600 feet, Brian Head Resort is the highest-elevation ski area in Utah and one of the first in the state to see measurable snowfall each fall. The resort has announced an anticipated opening date of Friday, Nov. 7, weather and conditions permitting.
This year, guests will find lift tickets starting at just $14 on select dates—a 26 percent price decrease from last season. In addition, kids 12 and under ski and ride free all season long, making it one of the most affordable family-friendly mountain destinations in the West.
Brian Head Resort offers a full range of terrain for skiers and snowboarders, plus winter tubing, lessons, and mountain dining with sweeping alpine views.
