This New Year, resolve to make your voice heard!
The Independent is looking for fresh faces to add to our roster of contributors in 2016! Whether you’re already a writer simply looking to expand your portfolio or audience, a local expert who would like to share your expertise with the community, or simply a rock star with a laptop and something to say, the Independent might be the place for you.
The Independent places your writing on both a local and an international stage. Our contributors are even being republished by other organizations. By writing for The Independent, you will not only have access to our website and editorial staff, but your pieces will be optimized for search engines, you’ll be promoted through our social media network, and you’ll even have the opportunity to possibly see your name in print in one of our monthly print editions.
We are currently accepting applicants for our opinion and news team. We are also looking for hikers who think they can write up good local hiking guides for their favorite hikes. If you are a music aficionado or a bookworm, we are looking for album and book reviewers as well. And if you’re a shutterbug looking to get established, we are always interested in local photo essays.
