I’ve been intending to draw a cartoon about Zika for a while now, but other stuff keeps popping up, like political conventions, Russians, Donald Trump, Donald Trump, and Donald Trump.
Congress has done a terrible job concerning the impending Zika crisis. If only it had a threatening African name like “Ebola.”
The Obama administration has asked Congress for $1.8 billion for funding the impending Zika outbreak in the U.S. The Senate passed a bill that was about $800 million short. The House finally got to work on it three months later but included provisions into the bill that added contraceptive restrictions, extra cuts to Obamacare, a measure to exempt pesticides from the Clean Water Act, and a really, really, really important pro-Confederate flag provision. And then they went on vacation.
Now vacationers from home and abroad are being warned about visiting dangerous contaminated places like Brazil and Florida.
Hey, I just thought of where Congress should spend their vacation.
