This year’s Zion Canyon Music Festival will share some incredible music and the stunning backdrop of Springdale’s picturesque landscapes with the citizens of southern Utah and spectators from around the world. Bands this year will include national touring acts, including The Ben Miller Band, an amazing trio whose style of American heritage mud stomp is sure to get you dancing; The Insect Surfers, one of the longest-running modern surf bands in America; Grant Farm, a high-energy bluegrass jam band; and the Steph Johnson Trio, combining elements of funk, jazz, and blues. Some of the best local acts of southern Utah will also rock the stage during the festival, including John Houston and his Gospel Choir, Katie and the Raccoons, Jensen Buck and the Family Band, Wirelefant, and DJ Bueller.

The Zion Canyon Music Festival will be serving microbrews from Wasatch Brewery and Squatters Craft Beers as well as a selection of red and white wines. Proceeds from the sales of these items go directly to funding the festival. Local restaurants, such as Wildcat Willie’s and Deep Creek Coffee, will offer delicious meals for attendees. Other food options include Island Grill Hawaiian food, Roadrunner Pizza, and hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the local Lions Club.

Vendor booths with beautiful handmade and fair trade artwork will be interspersed on the field along with educational and nonprofit booths. The festival will include a Kid Zone with bounce houses, obstacle courses, and face painting. A two-day pass to the Kid Zone with unlimited use is only $5 per child.

The Zion Canyon Music Festival is a “leave no trace” event that promotes sustainability, community, and alternative energy in southern Utah. The festival uses solar power to provide electricity to vendors at the event and encourages a green lifestyle with its educational booths and vendors. Food vendors serve meals on biodegradable paperware, and no plastic water bottles are sold at the event. Water filling stations will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles.

The future of the Zion Canyon Music Festival hinges upon the people of southern Utah coming out to show their support for the event. If the festival is not financially sustainable this year, it will not survive. Attendees can show their support for the Town of Springdale, the Zion Canyon Festival Committee, and the sponsors, vendors, and volunteers by participating in the Zion Canyon Music Festival. Entrance to the affordable and family-friendly festival is only $5 for adults 21 and over, with everyone under 21 admitted for free.
