The Zion Canyon Rotary Club in Springdale is hosting their annual Auction for Education on Saturday, Oct. 24, on the front lawn of Springdale Elementary School. The Annual Auction for Education embraces the collaboration between the new Zion Canyon Rotary Club and Springdale’s local elementary school by helping to raise awareness and funds in support of the school’s art and music program. In addition, funds provide college scholarships that are awarded to graduating seniors from Zion Canyon High School.
Unique art, adventure and recreation packages, special gifts, and more have been donated by local artists, galleries, and businesses supporting youth education. Paintings, prints, photographs, pottery, jewelry, and home decor items will be auctioned in addition to gift certificates for luxurious weekend getaways for couples.
Furnace Creek Resort has donated a two-night “stay and play” gift certificate for hotel accommodations and golf in Death Valley. Grand Canyon Railway has donated a gift certificate for a two-night hotel stay and a round-trip coach train ride for two to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Pink Jeep Tours has donated a gift certificate for a Coyote Canyon tour for two.
The auction and a performance by Springdale Elementary School students begins at 4 p.m. on the front lawn of Springdale Elementary School on Zion Park Boulevard. For more details and to preview auction items visit springdaletown.com, or call Jill Burt at (435) 772-3264.
