Zion Canyon Visitor Center Parking Lot To Temporarily Close Sept. 24

The Zion Canyon Visitor Center parking lot will temporarily close for re-striping on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024.

Visitors should plan on parking in the town of Springdale and taking the free Springdale Shuttle to enter the park. With the beautiful weather this time of year, an increase in traffic is also expected during this time.
The visitor center parking lot will reopen in stages throughout the day as re-striping is completed. Re-striping is the final step of a micro-sealing and repainting project, which helps improve conditions after years of wear and tear from vehicles and weather.
In addition to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, a few smaller parking areas will be re-striped during the following dates and locations:
  • Friday, September 20 – Weeping Rock, Emerald Pools Horse Corral, West Rim Trailhead, and Temple of Sinawava
  • Monday, September 23 – Tunnel East (Canyon Overlook), Zion Lodge Visitor Parking
  • Wednesday, September 25 – Kolob Canyons Visitor Center, Taylor Creek Trailhead, South Fork, Kolob Canyons Overlook
As always, guests are encouraged to plan ahead to minimize the impact on their visit.
