By Zachary Almaguer
The featured artist for the 2019 Zion Plein Air Invitational, to be held Nov. 5–10 at Zion National Park, is Arlene Braithwaite, it was announced.
In recognition of the 2019 Zion National Park Centennial, the Zion Forever Project will host 11 featured artists from previous plein air events: John Cogan, Michelle Condrat, Bill Cramer, Cody DeLong, George Handrahan, Buffalo Kaplinski, Roland Lee, James McGrew, Kate Starling, and Suze Wolf.
The artists have been chosen to help commemorate the legacy of art in the park in this special centennial edition of the Zion Plein Air Invitational. The artists will arrive Nov. 5 to paint in the park. They will each participate in a painting demonstration during the event, accessible to the public. Each artist has submitted five original Zion pieces (including a large, designated centennial piece), all of which will make up the heart of the physical exhibit and sale at the Zion Plein Air Invitational.
