Bodinsouthern utah adoptable pets Bodin

Bodin is a beautiful boy who would like nothing more than to have a comfy couch to sleep on for the rest of his life. Born in 2006, he was rescued from a hoarding situation. He is shy and fearful with new people, and it takes him a while to trust someone enough to allow handling. However, once he warms up, he is very loyal and loving. Bodin guards food and other resources and will bite if someone reaches for an object or food he is guarding or if someone tries to get in between him and his treasure. Because of this tendency, he will need to find a home with an understanding and dog savvy person. He also takes regular medication for age-related back pain. Potential adopters would need to come to the Sanctuary to get to know Bodin for one week to build a relationship with him and to make sure that everyone is comfortable with each other. Other than that, he doesn’t ask for much these days. He just wants to be adored and to adore someone back.

Clevelandsouthern utah adoptable pets Cleveland

Cleveland is a gentle, sensitive dog who is working on coming out of his shell with people. He is very shy with almost everyone he meets, and he will try to run away when he is afraid. Born in 2012, he eats a prescription diet to aid in his digestion. It takes Cleveland a while to adjust to changes in his routine, but he is ready to start experiencing more of the world. He already loves going for walks, enjoys treats and toys and rides well in the car. Cleveland loves other dogs and feels braver around them. Routine also helps him gain trust and confidence. When he’s feeling secure, he gets silly and wiggly and shows his sweet smile. Cleveland will need a home with a gentle, patient person and would do best with a friendly role model dog.

Waldosouthern utah adoptable pets Waldo

Waldo is a happy, loving, and tolerant dog. He is so incredibly friendly that no one is ever a stranger to him. Born in 2010, Waldo came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner in Louisiana. Because of his medical conditions, he is considered hospice. Waldo would love to be in a home where he can be loved, pampered and cared for. He’d enjoy going for walks and just chilling out with his family. Waldo takes prescription medication and is on a prescription diet. He’s done well with all dogs he’s met at the Sanctuary, though he cannot live with cats. Waldo wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his life in a comfortable and loving home. He’s looking for a person or family who can give him the care and attention he deserves, and he promises to give lots of love in return.

Pikitosouthern utah adoptable pets Pikito

Pikito is a great companion once he’s gotten to know you. He has some trust issues and needs some time to get comfortable, but once he has warmed up, he will show his true colors as a happy, goofy little dog. He can be very affectionate and likes to sit on your lap or right next to you. One of his favorite things to do is to ride in the car where he sits nicely and watches the world go by. He can be picky about his animal friends, and he doesn’t always like to share, so he will guard food and toys from other dogs and sometimes from people too. He has also shown a tendency to be reactive to other dogs and to people, but since coming to the Sanctuary and working on a training plan, he has vastly improved his skills meeting other dogs and people. His behavior has greatly improved as he’s built relationships and learned that people are safe and fun. He has successfully lived with dogs of all sizes, and he passed a cat test at the Sanctuary. Pikito is currently on supplements to help him stay calm and focus on training. This is something that could be reduced or eliminated in a home. However, he should be muzzled for vetting as he does not like medical handling. Pikito was born in 2014 and came to Best Friends from a humane society in Florida. He’ll be a great companion for an individual or adult family who is experienced with dogs and willing to work with him on his behavioral training. A training plan will be included when he goes to his new home. He’ll do best in a quiet, adult-only home where he can relax at your feet or on your lap with a toy.

Sashasouthern utah adoptable pets Sasha

Sasha is so pretty that people would gladly line up to meet her, but she’s quite shy with strangers at first. She does best with adults she knows and trusts, and she enjoys being around those in her inner circle. Sasha was born in 2011. She currently lives in a foster home with a Best Friends animal behavior consultant and will need to find a special home with a mature and dog-savvy person who can continue working with her. Since she has shown aggression toward other dogs and cats, Sasha cannot live with other animals. She gets anxious when she is left alone. She will jump fences, and may even chew through them. She is able to break out of crates as well. Sasha likes to play with toys and go for walks. She is looking for a home where she’ll be safe and secure and where the right person will love and care for her.

Katrinaosuthern utah adoptable pets Katrina

Katrina loves all faces: old faces, new faces, cat faces, people faces. She was born in 2017 and came from a California shelter. Katrina still has kitten energy and she wants to play with every cat she meets. She made herself right at home at Cat World, so we’re sure she would quickly adjust to a new home. Katrina loves being held and giving hugs. She’s pretty much the perfect cat and ready for a home.

Rainiersouthern utah adoptable pets Rainier

Rainier is an absolute sweetheart! She loves affection and will sit in your lap, rub on your legs, and let you cradle her like a baby for as long as you want. She is a purr machine. She was born around 2008 and came from local animal control. There was some hissing and spitting when she first arrived at Cat World, but she has now integrated with her fellow felines. She has a low-grade heart murmur but is otherwise healthy. Though it might take her a minute to get used to other cats and she doesn’t like dogs, she welcomes new people immediately.

Unicornsouthern utah adoptable pets Unicorn

This playful ball of purrs is precious, and sure doesn’t want to grow up homeless, but as part of your family! Unicorn was born in July 2018 and came from a Utah animal shelter. He has been in a foster home for the last month to prepare for adoption. He has done very well with the big dogs and other kittens in his foster home and gets along quite well with everyone. Unicorn is extremely affectionate and really enjoys snuggling up and watching movies with his people. He also LOVES to eat and will enthusiastically meow by your feet while you prepare his meals. Are you in love?

Caillesouthern utah adoptable pets Caille

Caille is usually shy at first. She is scared when meeting new people and introductions cannot be rushed. She does not like other cats, either; she will hiss and growl to protect her space. Born in 2013, Caille came from a rescue organization in California. She is prone to getting hairballs, so we give her hairball paste every few days. Caille has a beautiful face, but you can see sadness in her eyes. She’s hoping someone will find her who has the patience to allow her amazing self to come out.

Parissouthern utah adoptable pets Paris

Paris has been at the shelter for 10 months. She has kidney disease and requires special food. Gus is 4 years old and know to sit and lay down commands. He plays fetch and likes to go for a run a couple of times a week. He’s an awesome hiking partner and gets along with other dogs. Gus would do well with older kids but not younger as he is sensitive to his tail being touched and he can get a little rambunctious when playing. He so wants love and to make someone happy. Although good with other dogs, they don’t know how he is with cats. His adoption fee is $125. To meet Gus, call Dee at (435) 705-0468. Gus’ adoption fee is $125.

Sabrinasouthern utah adoptable pets Sabrina

After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.

Discosouthern utah adoptable pets DISCO

Disco is a handsome, smart, affectionate border collie blend who found himself at a nearby shelter. He would love to be your hiking or jogging partner or go for car rides, camping and just be a good friend. Disco knows sit, down and is the world’s best paw shaker. Disco would not be good with toddlers or young children as he has a strong herding instinct. If you have another dog, Disco would prefer it be a female and close to his size. His herding instinct is a bit much for small dogs and he’d prefer a home without cats. To meet Disco, call J at (435) 773-5209. Disco’s adoption fee is $125.

Divotsouthern utah adoptable pets DIVOT

Divot is a really sweet little dog who lost his home when his owner had to have surgery and was unable to care him. Divot has a tendency to nip at children when they run and has not been friendly with the cat in his foster home so prefers a home without either. Divot has enjoyed cuddling with his owner and now his foster parent. He is crate trained and loves to play with his toys. He’s a bit too food motivated and is on a diet at this time. To meet Disco, call J at (435) 773-5209. Disco’s adoption fee is $125.
