The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and board of directors named Carol Kolson the new Mesquite Chamber president and CEO as of Sept. 5.

Kolson was selected by the board of directors after a two-month search.

Kolson previously served as president and CEO of the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce, a regional chamber located in Tukwila, Washington. During her time as a member of the chamber, she also held the chair position, golf tournament chair, funding and events committee, and the ambassador committee.

Community outreach and nonprofits have played a large part in Kolson’s life during her 30-year banking career. She has spent many years volunteering for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Domestic Abuse Women’s Network, Junior Achievement, United Way, and Rotary. She has also spent time teaching financial literacy classes for the YWCA and other nonprofits.

Kolson resides in Sun City, Mesquite with her husband, John, who works for The Boeing Company. Kolson is looking forward to working with the board of directors, chamber staff, and the chamber members.
