Political Dementia

Dementia is a growing problem in our society. Yet political dementia is an even more inventive and inexhaustible disease: it involves selective memory recall.

Generally this disease affects our public officials when they have been called to task for improper conduct—or as more properly stated, malfeasance—like the CIA-Benghazi covert connection.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are two public figures who have displayed the onset of early political dementia.

Hillary Clinton’s memory appears to have gone through a lapse (early-stage dementia). What she has lost account of is that Ambassador Stevens went to Benghazi at her request to make Benghazi a permanent post and to recruit and arm al-Qaeda in Libya.

Why? The Obama administration i.e. the CIA and Hillary’s State Department was using the Benghazi port as a vehicle to deliver arms into Syria.

The consulate was a cover for the arms deals providing arms to the Syrian rebels and was not a real embassy at all.

Ambassador Stevens had made Clinton aware that both he and his embassy were targets as evidenced by two previous attacks against the consulate. In fact, Libya was a very unsafe place with security deteriorating rapidly as evidenced by several attacks.

The first bombing at the consulate occurred on April 6, 2012, when two former security guards for the Benghazi consulate threw homemade improvised explosives over the consulate fence. No casualties were reported from that incident, but that makes it no safer as the attack still took place.

On June 6, a second attack on the Benghazi consulate occurred when militants detonated an explosive at the consulate’s perimeter gate, blowing a hole through the barrier.

On June 10, a rocket-propelled grenade was fired into a convoy carrying the British ambassador to Libya. In June, the Red Cross was also attacked for a second time. Both the British consulate and the Red Cross abandoned Libya.

By the start of July, the U.S. Consulate was about the only Western target left in Benghazi. Why?

Because of the CIA operation to supply the (al-Qaeda linked) Syrian rebels with arms to overthrow Assad, which was what Obama wanted accomplished at any cost, including at the expense of a U.S. Ambassador, even if he was an ambassador only as a cover.

So when “Ambassador” Stevens requested additional security from Clinton’s State department, he had good reason. The unanswered question is why Clinton refused or failed to respect his request.

Why was Stevens in Benghazi?

In March 2011, Chris Stevens was actually part of a CIA covert operation. He had been delegated the official U.S. connection to the al-Qaeda-linked Libyan opposition. He would work directly with Abdelhakim Belhadj the al-Qaeda leader in Libya of which some members would be part of the attack that killed Stevens.

Abdelhakim Belhadj, our CIA asset who led al-Qaeda in Libya, is now in charge of the ISIS movement there. The U.S. was behind the arms shipments to Libyan rebels.

Stevens was part of an undercover CIA program to arm the Libyan and Syrian rebels and had requested additional security at the Benghazi consulate after the embassy was bombed in April and June of 2012 during Clinton’s bumbling reign as Secretary Of State.

Chris Stevens’ role in Benghazi was as a recruitment coordinator for the Arab countries’ fighters, including jihadists, to target and overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria.

In that regard, he worked with known al-Qaeda operatives.

The seven congressional committees investing the Sept. 11, 2012 attack that killed Chris Stevens and the others so far have failed to ask the right questions, even as at least 10 insiders and whistleblowers have been willing to testify and provide the committee evidence of the cover up—and why?

The Obama administration has threatened and intimidated both staffers who survived the attack and the CIA insiders if they testify as whistleblowers. In short Obama has warned that their careers will be over should they appear before Congress.

There has been an ongoing battle between Rep. Darrell Issa and Rep. Elijah Cummings over these hearings, with Cummings doing everything possible to disrupt these hearings and to protect Clinton and Obama from being exposed.

Gregory Hicks, a whistleblower after testifying about Benghazi has been demoted to a desk job. Officials Mark Thompson and Eric Nordstrom received similar treatment from the Obama administration.

Throughout all of the proceedings, including the current one, a perplexed and confused Democratic minority attempted to intimidate the witnesses—and to impeach rather then listen and correct a failed president and a failed Secretary of State.

Democrats appear to suffer from political dementia, believing their party is so important that serving and saving it is above the lives of Americans.

  1. I won’t get into the Benghazi debate since that’s been debated far beyond anything reasonable or get into lives lost under past presidents, but I will say that even the Republicans interviewed after the recent hearing said they had learned nothing new. I believe this “disease” affects both parties. Speaking of American lives, Republicans seem to have forgotten why we have regulations and safety nets in place and what it was like for regular folks before those were enacted. Yes, we may have gone overboard in some respects and course correction may be needed, but for Republicans to want to throw out the baby with the bath water shows they have little concern for people in general.
