Light the candle, open the book, and ring the bell—they’re waiting for you. Relive the golden age of séance and mysticism on Friday, May 22, at the DiFiore Center for the Arts as Pete McMillan conducts Victorian-era experiments in an attempt to contact intelligence beyond the veil.

Pete McMillan is your guide into this hour-long excursion of communication with the unborn as well as those who have already passed through this physical realm. Whether it’s an opportunity to speak with spirits from the Titanic or from America’s most haunted place—Waverly Hills Sanitarium—the spirits will speak.

Spiritus Dictum: Magick of the Mind is the result of Pete McMillan’s 45-year-long involvement in performing magic. Leaving the top hats and fluffy bunnies behind, McMillan now concentrates on presenting magic as storytelling punctuated by a surprise ending in the genre of ghosts and ghoulies.

McMillan first became interested in magic after visiting Merlin’s Magic Shop during a trip to Disneyland when he was 10 years old. He started performing magic professionally while serving in the United States Navy in the ‘70s. Upon retirement, he began performing in Bryce Canyon with a Western-themed musical group, the Bar-G Wranglers. Today, McMillan performs magic in southern Utah as “Mulee Pete.”

Spiritus Dictum: Magick of the Mind is performed monthly at the DiFiore Center for the Arts, located at 307 N Main St., in St. George. Seating is limited to 12 people for each performance, and admission is $10 per person. Group rates are available. Performances are limited to audiences 18 years of age and older.
