Multi-instrumentalist Trevor Green comes to Bit and Spur

“Spirited,” “deep,” and “thought-provoking” are just a few words to describe the artist known as Trevor Green. The solo singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist — whose music is something fresh and distinctly new yet deeply woven in the spiritual fabric of our ancient ancestors — is gearing up for his 30-date headlining Elevate Tour in continued support of his latest album, “Voice of the Wind,” and will stop in Springdale April 7 at the Bit and Spur.

“I’m super excited for the ‘Elevate Tour’!” shares Green. “The thought behind it all is to challenge myself and others to rise up and elevate together during these opportunistic times of change in the face of social injustices and remember that no matter what color, sex. or creed … we all bleed, we all cry, we all feel joy and all feel pain. As stewards of the earth, our time has come to celebrate our differences and integrate new ways of understanding each other and our unique stories so that we can bring forward the positive change and healing that we all seek together. Time to elevate!”

Surrounded by five guitars, three didgeridoos, an array of percussion instruments, and decorations of symbolic ancestral nature, Green’s stage appears to be a musical playground not for the faint of heart. Threading together singable and uplifting melodies, dynamic instrumentation, heart-pounding rhythms, and the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo with his spontaneous improvisational ability, Green’s performance is a one-man powerhouse with universal appeal that seems to come from the ground up. With his honest delivery and ability to extricate the music from a deep place of truth, he leads his audience through vast landscapes of sound, weaving together a magnetic and spellbinding performance.

“Voice of the Wind” — Green’s fifth studio album, released independently in March 2016 — is a captivating sonic journey exposing the foundational fabric from which his inspiration is born. Traveling the depths of emotion and musical experience, “Voice of the Wind” brings the listener into the haunting mystical realms of songs with “Rainbow Medicine” and into the celebratory experience of music with “Red Road” and title track “Voice of the Wind,” which Elmore Magazine noted, “drives like a chant, and builds into a soaring, exultant chorus of voices, singing together” (3/9/16). The 11-track record is a culmination of Green’s musical and spiritual experiences to date and expresses the willingness to invite each listener into his personal journey as a reflection of their own.

Listen to “Voice of the Wind” via the following platforms: Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Hooktube.

Serving as inspiration for “Voice of the Wind,” Green and his family embarked on a two-month life-altering journey into the heart of Australia in 2016 to discover the roots of the aboriginal culture and the story behind the didgeridoo, a fundamental part of the soundscape of his music. Throughout the experience, Green performed 25 shows across the region and met with various wisdom keepers from the indigenous aboriginal cultures, including the Galpu clan from the Northern Territory. Green put together a short documentary — set to the music of “Voice of the Wind” — capturing some of their journey; watch it now here.

As Joshua Pickard from nooga.com pointed out, “By using his own journey as a steppingstone for the personal advances made by his listeners, Green turns his life into a sort of intimate template of how you can successfully integrate the spiritual and physical aspects of your life into a single coherent viewpoint.” Catch Trevor Green on tour and prepare to get elevated!
