The National Weather Service has released a local winter weather advisory warning, which will go into effect at 5 p.m. tonight and continue through 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. The warning covers southwest and south central Utah, including Beaver, Cedar City, Milford, Kanab and Escalante.

Snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches is anticipated with less expected near Kanab, according to the report from the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City.

It is anticipated that rain and snow will develop this evening, turning into all snow overnight before tapering off on Friday morning. Winter driving conditions should be expected and planned for along I-15 and US-89. Visibility will be limited due to combined snowfall and blowing snow, so drivers are admonished to use caution, particularly in open areas.
