HITCH FEST RETURNS TO THE ELECTRIC THEATER!
The generous and undeniably passionate folks at Red Carpet Cinema love film in general with every fiber of their being but they have a special fondness for the classics, and anyone whose been to one of their events has felt that love firsthand. Over the course of the last few years, the team behind a handful of must-attend big-screen get-togethers, including Cardnial Cinema: A Festival of Uncommon Classics and The GEMs, is perhaps most known for a tribute to one of the great filmmakers of all time.
On Saturday, August 19th, Red Carpet Cinema will team with The Film and Media Alliance of Southern Utah (FMASU) to present their flagship event; An epic day-long affair dedicated to the master of suspense himself, Mr. Alfred Hitchock. This event, fittingly titled Hitch Fest 4, will take viewers on a cinematic journey that starts way back in the silent era. As the afternoon progresses, Red Carpet Cinema has a curated collection of films from the legendary Hitch that celebrates not only the master’s more well-known efforts but also the deep cuts.
Hitch Fest 4 will take place at The Electric Theater on Saturday, August 19th. The proceedings will begin at 11 AM. In addition to 4 passionately curated Hitchcock gems presented on the big screen, programmers promise surprises and even a couple of very special guests, including filmmaker Rob York. York is an accomplished writer/director behind several short films as well as the inventive sci-fi feature “Magellan” and last year’s much-beloved “Curse of Crom: The Legend of Halloween.” What’s more, York is a cinema enthusiast with quite a passion for Hitchcock, so attendees can expect plenty of insight from this gifted storyteller.
If you’re a big-time movie buff, then Hitch Fest is definitely for you, but it should also be noted that even if you’re just a casual movie-goer, this promises to be a very special event. It’s not every day that you get to experience the works of one of the greats in a theatrical setting. This will be a rare opportunity to do just that.
