Sprouts Farmers Market opens in St. George with produce at the center, community at heart

Sprouts pairs better-for-you shopping with everyday convenience, and St. George is getting Southern Utah’s first location. The store opens Friday with a ribbon cutting at 6:45 AM, doors at 7 AM, and a three-day celebration designed for families and food lovers. Shoppers who join Sprouts Rewards can take 20% off purchases all weekend, in store by entering a phone number or scanning a barcode, or online with promo code GEOGO20.

At Sprouts, produce is the star and sits at the literal center of the store. Guests will find colorful, seasonal fruits and vegetables up front, helpful ripeness cues on items like avocados, and an easy path to plan dinner without the label-dodging guesswork. A made-to-order deli counter offers fresh sandwiches at an everyday-friendly price point, while the vitamin and body care aisles are staffed by team members who act like personal shoppers to help navigate wellness choices.

“We’re thrilled to open the first Sprouts in St. George and Southern Utah. The vibe is going to be fun and friendly, with unique, better-for-you products, a huge variety in every aisle, and prices that make healthy eating easier. Our team cares about each other and about this community, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in,” said Bowman LoPorto, store manager.

Grand opening weekend brings a pop-up party out front with a tasting bar for seasonal produce and a “guess the weight” contest featuring an oversized showpiece. Inside, a Vendor Village will showcase new products from innovative brands. The first 200 shoppers on Friday and again on Saturday receive reusable goodie bags filled with products and samples. The first 400 guests on Friday also receive a long-stem rose courtesy of Falcon Farms Floral. Giveaways and music keep the energy up through Sunday.

Sprouts arrives with community programs already in motion. The St. George store will donate groceries that are no longer fit for sale but remain perfectly edible and nutrient-rich to the Utah Food Bank through the company’s Food Rescue program. Sprouts also partners with Utah growers, including Bangerter Farm, Fowers Fruit Ranch, and Mountainland Apples, to source local produce.
