“Transgender: A Personal Perspective” is the topic for the St. George branch of the American Association of University Women’s monthly luncheon Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Courtyard by Marriott.
The AAUW St. George November luncheon speaker is Dr. Robyn Boudreau. Born male, Dr. Boudreau will share her journey of gender dysphoria—realized at an early age—to womanhood. Active in the transsexual community since 1988 and part of a support group in 1990, she only recently completed her transition.
Dr. Boudreau is an accomplished academic physician and medical researcher. Before relocating to St. George, she was professor of radiology and director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Boudreau currently teaches organic chemistry at DSU and consults with several major pharmaceutical companies.
Boudreau will also provide general information about being transgender and answer questions following her presentation.
AAUW St. George Branch luncheons are open to the public. All are welcome. Seating is $16 and reservations are required by Nov. 3. Reserve online here.
The American Association of University Women is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since its inception in 1881, AAUW members have researched and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day: educational, social, economic and political. The AAUW St. George Utah Branch is an extension of the National AAUW. Founded in 1981, the mission of the AAUW St. George is to help advance equity for women and girls in Utah through advocacy, philanthropy and education. AAUW St. George Branch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Can someone please provide me information on the AAUW chapter in St George (contact person, membership, etc) and if there is one in Mesquite NV?
