Summer is in full swing in Southern Utah. Check out the Utah Shakespeare Festival at SUU for all kinds of entertainment. The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “The Cocoanuts”
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “The Cocoanuts” at the Randall L. Jones Theater in Cedar City. This theatrical comedy plays through Oct. 15 on select days. For showtimes and ticket information, visit bard.org.
Dixie State University and Summer Comedy Theatre present “The Lieutenant of Inishmore”
Dixie State University’s Summer Comedy Theatre presents “The Lieutenant of Inishmore,” a dark comedy set in a rural village in the early 1990s. This play has an “R” rating for graphic violence, language, blood, and a cat. “The Lieutenant of Inishmore” plays every Thursday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Eccles Fine Arts Center at Dixie State University. Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Henry V”
The Utah Shakespeare Festival presents “Henry V.” Prince Hal has inherited the throne as King Henry V and must try to save his kingdom. His immaculate speech showcases some of Shakespeare’s greatest writing, but it may or may not be enough to rally his countrymen. Tuacahn presents “Tarzan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings an unforgettable experience to the stage in Disney’s timeless adventure, “Tarzan.” This musical will show Thursday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m. until Oct. 12. This is the perfect family adventure for kids and adults. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased at the Tuacahn website.
The Casablanca presents Throwback Thursday: Free Movies at the Pool
The Casablanca presents “Jaws,” a free movie at the pool on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. This is an all-ages show. Bring the family and make a night of it. For more information, visit Casablanca online.
Tuacahn presents “Peter Pan”
Tuacahn Amphitheater brings another beautiful performance of childhood favorite “Peter Pan.” This play will show starting Thursday and Saturday at 8:45 p.m. Check out Tuacahn.org for showtimes and ticket purchases.
Dixie State University and Summer Comedy Theatre present “Five Women Wearing The Same Dress”
Dixie State University’s Summer Comedy Theatre presents “Five Women Wearing The Same Dress,” a play that follows five bridesmaids through an evening of bonding as they hide from a wedding that they do not want to be part of and a bride that they don’t even like. This play is rated “R” for adult themes and language. “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” plays and Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Eccles Fine Arts Center at Dixie State University. Beatrice and Benedick battle it out in a contest of wits — until they land in each other’s arms. This romantic celebration introduces you to these famous lovers and host of other eccentric characters. The play will show Friday at 8 p.m. at the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre. Sunset on the Square summer movie series presents “Minions”
The Sunset on the Square summer movie series is back Friday at 8:30 p.m. Join the St. George community at St. George Town Square for a family night of fun and the movie “Minions.” Bring your blanket, chairs, and goodies to this free event.
Lisa Mac at George’s Corner Restaurant
Lisa Mac is back at George’s Corner Restaurant at Ancestor Square. Enjoy the special talent of this young local star on Friday at 8 p.m. Grab dinner and a beer at George’s and make a night of it.
Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
One of the favorite Southern Utah Weekend Events, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, is open every Saturday at 8 a.m. to noon in Ancestor Square at 2 W. St. George Blvd. and will run through Oct. 29. The market features live music and an array of vendors. The Downtown Farmer’s Market is a nonprofit project dedicated to promoting the downtown area as well as organic gardening, homemade arts and crafts, and other goods. The market accepts the Horizon Card and participates in “Double Up Bucks” offered through a grant from Utahns Against Hunger. Come to the market and shop for farm-fresh produce with your Horizon Card and Double Up Bucks will match what you spend up to $10 each Saturday.
Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Cedar City
Visit the only Year-Round Farmer’s Market in Utah; a real farmers market that sells only locally produced and grown fruit, vegetables, jam, bread, and other farm products. Royal Bliss at The Firehouse Bar and Grill
