Kanab is famous for its cinematic history, and this September, the community is invited to experience where the real West meets the reel West. The Little Hollywood Wild West Fest arrives for three days and nights of nostalgia, stunts, and storytelling from September 10–12. Whether you are a fan of classic television or modern blockbusters, this one-of-a-kind event offers something for every posse of family and friends.

The heart of the festival is the Little Hollywood Museum. There, fans can meet movie and television stars including Rudy Ramos from Yellowstone, Mitch Vogel from Bonanza, and Darby Hinton from Daniel Boone. Stuntman Dr. Buck and his Wild Bunch will also bring high-energy action to the grounds with their signature Wild West Stunt Shows. For those looking for a slower pace, Merchant Row will feature rare finds from local artisans and crafters.

Younger cowboys and cowgirls can head to the Giddy Up Round Up Kids Korral for a wagon load of activities. The festival also includes a scavenger hunt with prizes, live music on the Gunsmoke Stage, and appearances by Hopalong Cassidy tribute artist Joe “Hoppy” Sullivan. For those who love western culture beyond the screen, the Parry Lodge Barn will host trail boss poet Andy Nelson for cowboy poetry and storytelling. The Kanab Center will also house an amazing quilt show and a library book sale.

Special evening events take place at the Historic Redstone Theater throughout the weekend. Thursday night features a screening of the classic western Tombstone with special guest Peter Sherayko. Friday night offers a star Q&A panel followed by an award-winning old-time radio show called Little Hollywood Rides Again! performed by the Ricochet Radio Ranglers. The big finale arrives Saturday night with a chuck wagon dinner at Giff’s BBQ where attendees can dine alongside the festival stars.
