LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Any appointment but Baca or Dunn will be an insult to voters

Dear Editor,

Should the four sitting council persons appoint anyone but Tara Dunn or Ed Baca to Mayor Pike’s vacant city council seat, it will be an affront /insult to those who voted in the recent St. George City election.
It will also be an indication that “the good old boy” system is still alive and well in our fair city. Both Dunn and Baca have paid their dues, both are qualified and earned the votes to make it into the general election.  
Either Dunn or Baca’s appointment would be a postive step forward in city government. Even an efficient “City Manager form of government” needs careful oversight, not a rubber stamp.
