Southern Utah is getting ready for a night of incredible performances as Dixie’s Got Talent returns to the stage this fall. Presented by the Utah Tech University Entertainment Alliance, this annual tradition is more than just a talent show; it is a community-wide effort to raise funds for student scholarships while giving local artists a chance to shine.
The event has become a premier showcase for regional performers, providing them with a professional platform to share their gifts and compete for cash prizes. Del Beatty, Vice President of Student Affairs, notes that the most rewarding part is watching people find the courage to perform and gain recognition for their abilities while supporting the next generation of students.
The road to the finale began with video auditions, with contestants competing in youth, adult, and group categories. After a round of in-person callbacks on August 1, the top eight contestants from each category were chosen. These 24 acts will now face off in the grand finale, where a panel of judges and audience voting will determine the winner and runner-up in each category.

This year, the finale is moving to a new date to kick off the City of St. George’s annual Dixie Days festivities. The show begins at 7:30 PM on September 5 at the America First Performing Arts Center (AFPAC) Stage on the Utah Tech University campus. It is a wonderful way to celebrate local talent and community spirit all in one evening.
Tickets for the finale range from $20 to $50 and go on sale starting at 9 AM on August 3. You can purchase yours at the Utah Tech ticket office or online at utahtech.edu/ticket-office. To learn more about the voting process and the event timeline, you can visit utahtech.edu/DGT.
