Silver Reef Museum hosts Arts to Zion Western Celebration of the Arts
By Bobbi Wan-kier
We invite you to be immersed in the rich history and beauty of southern Utah as the Silver Reef Museum hosts the Arts to Zion Western Celebration of the Arts — a group of fascinating communities filled with amazing cultural experiences and award-winning talents and a place that will draw you into to a world that defies your imagination and that you will not want to leave.
You will find yourself surrounded by a western ghost town nestled in the picturesque cliffs of the town of Leeds, a once bustling mining community known as Silver Reef in the 1800s that has been transformed to give you a glimpse of the wild west. And what better way to experience the beauty of the area then by also enjoying beautiful works of award-winning artists?
This event will merge the two with cowboy gunfights, performances, storytelling, lectures, demonstrations, live music, and world-class paintings for sale. Dates are Sept. 20–22 with different events daily and art for sale all day each day.
This event is a collaboration among Arts to Zion, Silver Reef Museum, Illume Gallery of Fine Art, Authentique Gallery of Fine Art and Design, The Mission Gallery of Fine Art, and the St. George and Zion Area Tourism Office.
The event’s featured artists are Kimbal Warren, Steve McGinty, and Kimball Geisler. The featured storytellers are Clive Romney and Reuben Wadsworth. The Silver Reef Museum and Ghost Town will also feature “Old West” town folk, The Lawmen & Muddy River Gang reenactors, and Jerry Anderson and his private sculpture studio.
