RSQ Dogs+
RSQ Dogs+ is Southern Utah’s newest nonprofit animal rescue group. It is an all-volunteer group dedicated to saving the lives of animals in underserved, rural areas of Washington County. All of the animals in their care are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any medical care they may need. For more information, please contact RSQ Dogs+ at (800) 897-1136 or RSQDogsUtah@gmail.com or visit RSQDogsUtah.org.
Blade
Blade is a young pup and is approximately 4 months old. RSQ Dogs+ pulled him from Hilldale intake. He is still coming out of his shell but has a very sweet demeanor. He appears to be a Black Mouth Cur (remember Old Yeller?). These dogs make great hunting partners and are very loyal. An active family with a yard to run around in would make a perfect forever home for young Blade.
Black Jack
Black Jack is a wonderful, friendly Border Collie who was recently a huge hit at the Zion Music Festival. He gets along well with other dogs and loves children. He has a very gentle demeanor. A loving, active family would be a perfect fit for this beautiful guy.
Keno
Keno was a stray in Hildale. He is a long-legged, big boy who could stand to put on a few pounds. He has a gorgeous brindle coat with orange highlights (and orange toenails to match!) Keno is a Hound & Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. He gets along well with children and other dogs. He loves to play fetch and walks well on a leash. He is happy and sweet and looking for his forever home.
Lure
This adorable tortie girl is Lure. Lure came to RSQ Dogs+ in an emergency situation with a 3 prong fish hook in her thigh. The vet sedated her to remove it, and now she’s all fixed up and excited about life! Now she is ready for her fur-ever home. She is very sweet and loves to play. She would be good in a home with other cats or being the only cat.
Star
This beautiful girl is Star. RSQ Dogs+ got Star with her kittens from a rural area. She is mellow and very loving. She will make some lucky person a wonderful companion. She is a small Tabby that would do well in a home with other cats or alone.

Hercules
Hercules is a super playful dog who loves meeting new people at the Sanctuary. He is so people oriented that he always wants to be with someone and will whine when he’s not. At Dogtown, he loves meeting and playing with new dogs and has demonstrated amazing dog skills. He will adapt to other dogs’ play styles, but he does love to roughhouse, run and jumps around. In the past, during times of very high excitement, he has grabbed other dogs, so his environment should be controlled. He can get excited and jumpy when he’s being leashed up as well, so he is working on calm leashing at the Sanctuary. Hercules was born in 2016 and came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network partner shelter in Florida. Because he has bitten in the past, he is working on muzzle training at Dogtown and will need a dog-savvy, adult-only household. An active home would also be best for Hercules, though he does know when it’s time to chill out and relax.
Jarvis
Jarvis is energetic and playful, and he’s a great “adventure” dog. He also settles nicely and is a great cuddle buddy. Because Jarvis will jump fences, he must be kept safe and secure. He is not good with cats or other dogs, so it would be best if he were an only pet. Jarvis was born in 2012. He’s learning lots of new skills at the Sanctuary, including walking on a loose leash, waiting for his meals, and crate training. He’s also learning basic training cues such as “sit,” “down,” and “paw.” If you’re looking for a fun, friendly and energetic dog, Jarvis may be your perfect match. Jarvis has a generous sponsor who will cover his adoption fee.
Isabel
It’s easy to fall in love with Isabel. She’s a real sweetheart who bonds closely with other dogs and with people. Isabel needs to have knee surgery, but she’s otherwise in good health. She loves her walks and has great leash manners. Isabel was born in 2014 and has anxiety. She doesn’t like when people leave her, and she can be jumpy and mouthy when she senses they are about to go. She would do best in a home with someone who has a lot of time and patience to give her, and where there are no small dogs or cats. Once she settles in and feels safe, some of her anxiety will likely fade. All she wants is someone who will be there for her for life. If you should decide that you’re Isabel’s someone, she has a generous sponsor who will pay her adoption costs.
Britney
Britney was extremely shy when she first arrived from Saudi Arabia, but after being at Best Friends for a few months, she is starting to be more trusting and affectionate. She will now approach us and rub up against our legs. She’ll even ask to be petted but doesn’t like to be picked up. Born in 2007, she’s in good health. She can be picky about her cat friends. Speaking softly and moving slowly will help to earn Britney’s trust.
Jupiter
Jupiter is an adorable tabby who was rescued from a hoarding situation. He was born in 2010, and really adores the companionship of other cats. He is still a bit shy but has really come out of his shell since being at Best Friends. He’s gradually becoming more cuddly and playful and would love to be yours. Jupiter is also bonded, with his best friend Bud, and would need to be adopted with him.
Martin
This pretty boy came to Best Friends when his person lost his home to foreclosure. Martin has been shy and nervous around people since arriving, but they believe he has great potential. For now, he likes to hang out in high places, looking down and keeping an eye on things. Martin gets along just fine with other cats. Born in 2008, he has a heart murmur but is not on any medication. It takes a while to gain his trust. Do you have time for Martin?

Pharaoh
Pharaoh’s owner could no longer keep him. He is a big softie. He loves water and being in the pool or being in the meet-and-greet room having his belly rubbed. Pharaoh is a nice, gentle dog. He recently had bilateral eyelid surgery to repair where eyelashes were rubbing his eyes and he is doing well following surgery. He is waiting for a new home. His adoption fee is $60.
Carmex
Carmex was caught in a trap, probably looking for food. She is a very friendly lady approximately 2–3 years old. She is easily handled, comes when called, and loves to be brushed. She had an owner, but no one has called or come looking for her, so she is waiting for a new home. Her adoption fee is $40.
Morris and Cloudy
Morris and Cloudy’s owners could no longer keep these cats. Each one is from a different home and different personalities. Morris is 10 years old and declawed. He loves people and comes when called. He does not like to be picked up or brushed but he loves being petted. Cloudy is 10 years old and is extra large. Cloudy is very outgoing and talkative, likes being petted but does not like being picked up. The senior cats qualify for the Special Senior Adoption Fee.
Sissy
Sissy came to the shelter with her mother because her family had too many cats. She is a beautiful bright-colored calico. Sissy is a quiet cat who just loves attention. She is easily handled. Her adoption fee is $40.
Katy
Katy was turned in with her daughter Sissy because her family had too many cats in the home. She is a little shy but super friendly and easily handled. She loves being held and cuddling in your lap. Her adoption fee is $40.

Kiko
Kiko is approximately 4-5 years old and has very handsome markings. He’s quite shy and would prefer to be an only dog. He’s pretty much a loner as compared to other dogs but does get along with other small dogs. He favors women and would be happy without a dad. He’s very sweet and friendly once he knows and trusts you. He loves to eat and is getting a bit of a tummy on him. Kiko came to BAM from Texas and had heartworm but is now fully recovered with a clean bill of health and ready for adoption. To find out more about Kiko, contact Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. His adoption fee is $125.
Lexi
Lexi is a 5-year-old blue-nose pit with a sad story. She was dumped out of a car and left in Las Vegas. Through her microchip, she was traced to an elderly gentleman who had Lexi for the first few years of her life but had to move to assisted living and re-homed her. Information on her stops at that point until she was dumped out of a car. She’s good with cats and kids. She needs work on leash training and staying around when not on the leash (she thinks you’re playing when she runs off). Other than that, she is an absolute peach. She is a complete snuggle bug who loves belly rubs and gives the best kisses with her giant tongue! She is so easy to love and has tons of love to give. A very friendly dog, she gets along with everybody. She’s been good with other dogs when the other dogs are somewhat calm. She hasn’t shown signs of aggression but gets too energetic when other dogs do and doesn’t realize how big she is. She has arthritis and has mild skin allergies. Her adoption fee is $125. For more information on Lexi or to make an appointment to meet her, contact Shayde at (208) 420-3764.
Sabrina
After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.
Bindi
Bindi is a border collie blend believed to be around two years old. She spent one night in a foster home after being pulled from the shelter to come to us. The foster parent wrote: “She loved my little boy and loves to explore the house. She did well in the crate last night and did pretty well with my dogs. She takes treats nicely and, surprisingly, she is very confident. I bet she’d make an amazing agility dog. She is very loving with people but seems to want to do her own thing around other dogs and doesn’t seem playful. I hope she finds a great home!” Bindi is a typical herding dog and will require an owner with experience. She is not good for a first-time pet owner. If you are interested in doing dog sports, they believe Bindi would excel at that. BAM is taking applications at this time for Bindi and she will be available to be placed once she is spayed. Go to BAMutah.com and you will find the application embedded in the text under the Adopt section. You can download it, fill it out and send to J@BAMutah.com or call (435)773-5209 to find out more about her. Bindi’s adoption fee is $125.
