Southern Utah Joins Celebration
125 Year Anniversary for Utah Statehood
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah— The 125th anniversary of Utah’s statehood, celebrated on January 4th, 2021, offers the opportunity to honor the past while celebrating the future. Washington County is pleased to present a community firework display in honor of the special day. Launching from Tech Ridge, these commemorative fireworks will light up the valley in a festive fashion. Gather your family and enjoy the spectacle from the warmth and safety of your home or car.
The firework show will begin at 7:30 pm. Simultaneous displays will occur in each of Utah’s 29 counties as part of Thrive125, an initiative developed by the Utah Department of Heritage & Arts with support from the Governor’s Office and the Utah Legislature.
The presentation also coincides with Utah’s inauguration day where Washington County will host the first gubernatorial inauguration since statehood to take place outside of Salt Lake City.
Washington County appreciates the State of Utah for donating the fireworks, as well as the City of St. George for their collaboration in co-hosting this event.
