Holy Molysouthern tuah adoptable pets Holy Moly

Holy Moly is like a giant puppy with his zest for life. He’s silly and has a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. He loves to snuggle, play, and receive belly rubs, and he tries really hard whenever he’s learning anything new. Although he has a degenerative joint disease, medications and supplements keep him feeling his best. At times he can tire quickly but he’s able to stay active doing agility, swimming, walks on the trails, playing with toys, and hanging out with his doggie friends. He loves car rides and bathing in the sun. Holy Moly is very smart and has learned many training cues. He is an incredibly sweet boy, and he’d love to be your companion. Please fill out an adoption application today to meet this sweet boy!

Martha May Who & Miss Rue Who

Miss Rue Who
Martha May Who

The Who’s are ready to bring joy and happiness into your home. They are looking for a home either separate or together but no Grinches, please! They are Miniature Pinscher/Cattle Dog/Mixed and absolutely adorable. We would love to meet you, make arrangements today to come to meet us!

Ivy

Ivy came to Best Friends in the fall of 2020 from northern Utah where she was found as a stray. Born around 2019, this sweetheart has a gorgeous all-black coat and adoring brown eyes. Ivy’s special needs may be there her whole life as a result of unknown injuries from her time as a stray, but she doesn’t let anything slow her down. She still loves training, belly rubs, and hanging out with other pigs. She needs a forever home with a
a caring family who will keep her safe and loved.

Lucky

Lucky is a lovely older molly (female mule) who was born in approximately 1991. She came to us with her full brother, Fiero. They are one year apart in age and practically twins. She was somewhat standoffish when we got her but has learned very quickly that we are trustworthy and has become quite friendly and easy to catch, even in a large pasture. She loves to be scratched and really appreciates any kind of horse treat; she’s not picky. She is past the age of being ridden, but is a lovely companion, and would ideally like to be adopted with her brother. She is very healthy but needs a strict diet of grass hay to keep some metabolic tendencies in check. Neither she nor Fiero can be around dogs or other small animals, but they have great social skills with other equines.

Holly

Holly is a shy girl who’s had a bit of a rough time. She and her sister were dumped outside in Las Vegas, and now they are looking for their forever home. A little TLC will go a long way with these two cuties.

Because of their charming and distinctive personalities, rabbits make wonderful pets. Although they can be social with their human families, bunnies need the companionship of their own kind to thrive. From kissing and cuddling to sleeping and playing, bonded rabbits live as a pair and do everything together to ensure each other’s safety and comfort. Without a companion, rabbits become lonely, depressed, and anxious.

So that our rabbits live their longest, healthiest and happiest lives, we have bonded them with a companion, and we only offer them for adoption in these pairs. Since bonded bunnies share the same bed, exercise pen, litter box, and food and water dishes, caring for two rabbits is just as easy as caring for one. So not only will you save two lives, but you’ll also enjoy watching your two rabbits hop, play, snuggle and enjoy their new home together.

If you’re interested in adopting Holly, doing so will require that you also adopt her sister, Molly: https://bestfriends.org/adopt/adopt-our-sanctuary/17061740/molly

These cuddly bunnies are hopping in excitement to meet you.

He would love to find his furever, loving home for Christmas. Could it be yours?

Dear Santa,

I’ve been pretty good this year. Please won’t you grant me my holiday wish? I’ve tried to be patient. But I’m still waiting for someone to love me. Could you bring me a new best friend who will play with me, teach me new things, cuddle me, and help me to be the best dog ever? They don’t have to be perfect. As long as they love me, I will believe that they’re the most wonderful person in the world. And I promise to love them with my whole heart forever.

Make a list and check it twice- getting a pet from the Mesquite Animal Shelter makes the holidays twice as nice

Tail Wags, purrs and Kisses,  from the animals at the Mesquite Animal Shelter.

Hazel

Hazel is a volunteer favorite, and we are heartbroken that there hasn’t been any interest in her. She is a Shepherd mix, but she is not a big dog, she’s nice and petite at only 36lbs. She has the sweetest temperament, she loves getting belly rubs and attention. She enjoys toys, going on walks, and has been great with other dogs she meets. She’s about 4-5 years old, the perfect age in our opinion, already potty trained, and has good manners!! Please consider making Hazel a loving member of your family, or at least share this post in the hopes that just the right person sees it and gives this sweet girl a chance!! Her adoption fee is $60.

Kringle

Kringle was found as a stray. He is very playful, talkative, and loves attention. He purrs all the time. Kringle loves all toys and especially the laser. He comes when called. Kringle is a wonderful cat that will make a great home companion. Make arrangements to meet him today! His adoption fee is $40.

Maxwell

Eight-year-old Maxwell suddenly found himself an orphan when his owner unexpectedly died and, understandably, doesn’t like to be left alone. He’s a sweet boy who enjoys playing with other dogs but doesn’t like cats and isn’t fond of kids either.

Maxwell’s foster says he’s about 80% housebroken. She also said he is a Houdini and will hide and then try to escape. His adopter will need to keep a close eye on him so he doesn’t dash out the door. This behavior may disappear once he feels secure and comfortable in his new loving home.

Ozzy

Tiny Ozzy is only six months old and he’s housebroken, crate trained, rides well in a car, and gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs. He’s the cutest little thing ever…the perfect addition to your family this Christmas!

Ozzy will be available LOCALLY ONLY as a foster to adopt until he’s neutered on December 15th, at which time his adoption will be finalized and this sweet baby boy will be all yours forever

Frogger

Frogger is friendly, sweet, and outgoing. He’s very social and loves playing with other dogs. He even seems to get along with cats!!! He would make an awesome addition to any family!

We estimate Frogger’s age at six years because of the condition of his teeth. He is available LOCALLY ONLY as a foster to adopt until he gets a dental at which time his adoption can be finalized and this big hunk of a boy will become all yours!

Dash

Some Native American cultures believe having heterochromia (one blue eye and one brown) means one can see heaven and earth at the same time. They refer to this as having Ghost Eyes and beautiful Dash definitely has them. And if his eyes don’t melt your heart, his cute little nose will! Not only is he stunning, but he is also a total love bug who will melt right into your arms.

Dash was dumped at Parowan Gap and lived on his own for at least two weeks. One of the local families put food out for him until he became brave enough to be coaxed inside where he immediately found the couch. He was good with their kids and dogs.

Dash is young (we’re guessing six months to a year) and has a lot of energy. He likes to play with other dogs but can be enthusiastic so he’ll do best with some training. He’s afraid of loud noises and sudden movements and terrified of water from a hose. Who knows what this sweet boy went through before he was left to fend for himself. He deserves so much better.

Diamond

Eight-year-old Diamond is a gentle girl who would give anything to be in an easy-going home with someone special who will take her on leisurely walks and activities and smother her with hugs! She adores sitting in the shady grass and just being loved on.

The poor girl was rescued from a kill shelter in California and, even though she’s safe now, she’s not a fan of being kenneled and would much prefer sitting on a couch with her humans all day watching soap operas.

Diamond enjoys the company of other dogs and will gently remind those that are too playful to be respectful of her age. She’s not a grumpy old lady though–if you ever want a laugh, just get a toy out and watch her play. She steals everyone’s hearts. She has lots of love in her and just needs someone to share it with.

Roxy

Roxy needs a playmate!  This girl is so affectionate, full of life, and smart, smart, smart!!! She wants nothing more than get outside and play ball, tug, you name it–she just wants to play!

Unfortunately, life changes didn’t allow pretty Roxy to stay with her family and she has to be re-homed. She’s a wonderful girl (did we mention that she’s smart?) who needs someone with an active lifestyle and time to help develop her mind. She would probably be a great agility dog, frisbee fetcher, and/or running/hiking partner. And once she’s worn you out, she’ll snuggle up to you on the couch for cuddles and cookies. (Exercise and cookies- you can’t lose!) And can you imagine gazing into those gorgeous eyes every day?
