Architect – Artist
David brings a 25-year career as a building Architect to his current artistic endeavors. He developed a significant reputation with his firms PJHM Architects and David Hansen Architecture for excellence in both Residential and Educational Facility design. An area of particular notice was his extensive use of natural daylighting and green design techniques throughout his homes and buildings.
His knowledge and skill with form, color and particularly light, are invaluable to his work in this new medium. “Photographic Impressions” and “Architectural Landscapes” as he has coined the finished pieces, are a unique new expression developed by exposing traditional original photographic images to the new digital darkroom creative tools and techniques. His subject matter is broad, spanning from local Utah landscapes and Architecture, to exotic figure work and beyond. His finished art demonstrates a passion for the beauty, complexity and unity of the natural world in which we exist.
David and his wife Irina live in St. George, Utah, where they enjoy an abundance of natural beauty and scenic landscapes as daily inspiration. David also paints Original works in Oil and Acrylic.
