Zappos.com will work for a second year with Best Friends Animal Society to sponsor pet adoptions this holiday season. From Nov. 25 through Nov. 28, customers will have the opportunity to adopt a dog or cat through Zappos.com, which has pledged to donate a total of $1.25 million to Best Friends Animal Society.
“Zappos is excited to work with Best Friends Animal Society for a second year this holiday season,” said Steven Bautista of Zappos.com. “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of loving homes, and we want to give all of our customers the ability to make a difference in their lives.”
In southern Utah, all dogs and cats over six months old at Best Friends Animal Society’s Sanctuary in Kanab are being adopted out free during the event. For adopters outside the area, Best Friends is offering free flights for up to 50 pets adopted during the event. Available dogs and cats and adoption applications can be viewed at bestfriends.org/adopt/adopt-our-sanctuary.
More than 115 shelters, rescues and humane organizations across the United States will participate in the initiative, allowing customers nationwide the opportunity to save a furry friend this holiday season.
“We’re excited to partner with Zappos.com for the second year in a row on this holiday promotion,” said Gregory Castle, co-founder and CEO of Best Friends Animal Society. “Every animal that finds a permanent loving home helps us to get one step closer to save them all.”
“The holidays are an incredibly popular time to add a pet to the family, so we are very grateful to Zappos.com for helping us make adoption even more appealing,” added Castle. “So, instead of a laptop, consider bringing home a lap dog or cat that will give you a lifetime of love and companionship.”
Hundreds of dogs, cats, and kittens of all ages and sizes will be available to choose from, and each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to go home immediately.
“Not only will you get a great deal, you’ll save two lives with every adoption — the pet you bring home and the pet that now has space to come into the sanctuary from one of our partnering rescues and shelters,” Castle said.
