Huddle up, it’s almost time for the cutest showdown in sports. Puppy Bowl XXII returns on Sunday, February 8, bringing together Team Ruff and Team Fluff for a day of playful competition, plenty of puppy naps, and an even bigger mission, helping pets find loving homes.

For the third year in a row, Best Friends Animal Society is teaming up with Warner Bros. Discovery to turn Puppy Bowl excitement into lifesaving action. From February 2–9, pet adoption fees will be waived at Best Friends locations nationwide, including the organization’s flagship sanctuary in Kanab, making it an ideal time to welcome a new four-legged teammate home.
Southern Utah animal lovers are also invited to celebrate locally at a Puppy Bowl watch party at the Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile in Kanab. The event takes place Sunday, February 8, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, featuring the Puppy Bowl broadcast on the big screen, free refreshments, fun swag, and the chance to meet a cuddly crew of adoptable pets.
Best Friends will also have a special reason to cheer during this year’s game. Bianca, representing Team Fluff, hails from the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in New York City after arriving from Fulton County Animal Services in Georgia. Despite a challenging start in life, Bianca made it to Puppy Bowl XXII and was adopted shortly after being drafted, now living happily in New Jersey.
“For pets in shelters, there’s nothing more glorious than a loving family,” said Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society. “This collaboration, now in its third year, has led to loving homes for thousands of pets, and we look forward to many more this February. For those tuning into Puppy Bowl XXII and wishing they had their very own cuddly MVP by their side, we encourage you to visit your local shelter or rescue group. Make adoption your only option so that together we can save every healthy, treatable pet.”

According to Best Friends data, approximately seven million people will bring home a new pet in the coming year. If just six percent more chose adoption over purchasing from a breeder or pet store, the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters could be ended.
Puppy Bowl XXII airs Sunday, February 8, at 2 PM ET, 11 AM PT, and will simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, HBO Max, and discovery+. Viewers can join the conversation using #PuppyBowl.
