The Cedar City Wine Club will host a wine dinner at Chef Alfredo’s Restaurant in Cedar City on March 20 at 5 p.m. Executive chef Gerardo has put together a menu paired with Italian wines.
The first course is Chilean Corn Soup with crab meat, and the second course is Shrimp Gazpacho Shooters. Both are paired with Stemmari Grillo.
The third course is Steak Au Poivre with brandy cream sauce and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, paired with Straccali Chianti. Following that are Scallops and Saffron Orecchiette, drizzled with creamy saffron sauce, served with risotto, and paired with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio.
The final course is Braised Chicken Meatballs with arugula and pesto and paired with Falseco Vitiano Rosso.
Dessert is a Red Wine Poached Pear with Marscapone Filling, paired with Martini Rossi Asti Spumanti Moscato.
The dinner is open to the public; interested wine lovers do not have to be wine club members to attend this event. The price, which includes dinner, wine, tip, and tax, is $55 per person.
