CFAK IS REOPENING ITS DOORS to the entire COMMUNITY with one of Terrance McNally’s best: The Full Monty! (Masks and sanitization guidelines still required)

Terrence McNally passed away from Covid-19 on March 24th, 2020. We feel the loss as one of the brightest stars in the Artistic Achievement Galaxy dimmed. Terrence created over fifty works for the stage, he won four Tony Awards for his writing, and in 2019 he was awarded the special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.

CFAK will keep your spirit alive through the upcoming production of THE FULL MONTY!

Director, Josh Scott, commented “I was asked over a year ago if I was interested in directing a show at the Center For the Arts at Kayenta. To my surprise, The Full Monty was being considered. This musical has a lot of substance that needs to be shared. Great music and a great story, with some really great messages like; what it is to be a man, a woman, to be thin or fat, is success only measured financially when we struggle, are we failing, what do we really think of others and ourselves, what relationships are worthwhile, what is love?

I look at myself and wonder, what is acceptable and expected of me? Is it to be the breadwinner only? Does my wife or significant other still find me attractive? Is it ok to ‘let it go’ and be the real me? Are I and others willing to go ‘The Full Monty’ laying our truth and honest emotions out for public display?”  The story is about these everyday guys who find themselves out of work in the steel mills in 1994. They will have you laughing and feeling the pangs of how they come together to produce a show that could ultimately save their relationships as well as their ability to pay child support and their mortgages!

There are mature themes in the show and some mature language,  including a strip scene – down to the g-string. This award-winning musical has never been done in the entire southern Utah region! May 13th-22nd, the Lorraine Boccardo black box will be jirating with music, dance, and fantastic actors with all of the bells and whistles you should expect from a professional production that every bachelorette party should attend!  This is a grand reopening sort of show that true musical theater diehards will be so glad they attended. Another first-time EVER DONE event at the CFAK!  Get your tickets now by calling 435-674-2787 or going online at www.KayentaArts.com
