Collected Objects

From December 3rd – 6th, Southern Utah University is showcasing student creativity, inspiration, and dance with their performance, Collected Objects, an original student-choreographed dance concert. This performance will be performed in the Randall L. Jones Theater at 7:30pm with a special matinee on December 6th at 2pm. General admission is $10, SUU alumni is $8 with alumni card, students and youth are $5, and all SUU faculty, staff, and students are free with valid I.D.

Collected Objects spotlights student choreographers who have challenged themselves by putting their vision onstage to be performed by fellow students. The evolution for the choreographers started in the classroom, moved to the rehearsal studio, to now being danced on stage. These student choreographers  have been mentored by SUU’s talented dance faculty: Kay Andersen, Chair, Theatre Arts and Dance Department; Megan Brunsvold, Assistant Professor of Dance; Patricia Meredith, Assistant Professor of Dance; and Denise Purvis, Assistant Professor of Dance. Come see what they have created!

SUU Theatre Arts and Dance Chair Kay Andersen has great expectations for Collected Objects and had this to say, “This performance is an opportunity to immerse the audience in a variety of dance experiences created by our talented students. Collected Objects is a collaboration of student choreographers, lighting designers, and costume designers in an experience that is innovative, dynamic, and always educational.”

Collected Objects features an exciting array of new works created by Tiana Chambers, Kathleen Fotherinham, Wen Han, LayCee Houghton, Erin Hulse, Danikka Johnson, Kaitlyn Katter, Shannon Marshall and Emily O’Donnell. The performance features an ensemble comprised of Jessica Alejandro, Amy Andre, Kristin Breding, Bini Brockbank, Tiana Chambers, Soliel Cook, Katrina Empey, Kathleen Fotherinham, Catlyn Griswell, Abby Hall, Brynn Hall, Wen Han, Mady Harlow, LayCee Houghton, Erin Hulse, Danikka Johnson, McKenzie Jonely, Kaitlyn Katter, Madi Law, Shannon Marshall, Katlyn Mitchell, Jeremy Muir, Hailey Nilson, Bethany Nordfelt, Danyel Rosewood, Kymi Soper, Kodei Spresser and Liesl Whitaker.
