Dixie State University’s theater department will put on performances of “Peter and the Starcatcher” Feb. 23–25 and Feb. 28–Mar. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Eccles Mainstage Theatre. The play is directed by Russell Saxton with musical direction by JP Kentros. Written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker, the family-friendly Tony Award-winning play is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and runs about two hours. There will be a 15-minute intermission.

Twelve actors will play more than 100 characters in “Peter and the Starcatcher,” a grown-up’s prequel to “Peter Pan” that tells the story of how a miserable orphan comes to be “The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at dsutix.com/Box_Office/Home.html. The Eccles Mainstage Theatre is located in the Eccles Fine Arts Center at S 700 E in St. George.
